Life Under the Awning Blog

As a technologically advanced awnings manufacturer, Eclipse Shading Systems is dedicated to solar protection solutions and anticipating the needs of a constantly evolving market. The Eclipse first-class production facility exists exclusively to custom craft Eclipse solar shading systems. Eclipse uses only the finest parts, fabrics and threads from around the world and we take pride in our one-of-a-kind shading products, customer service, and dealerships located throughout the United States.

We at Eclipse want to make a difference by getting involved with national organizations and in the Pitch for Kids charity and Eclipse Awningscommunities where we live and work. Pitch For Kids was conceived by the Renegades President, Skip Weisman. In the fall of 1995, he realized how important it was for the team to be a more integral part of their community. The proceeds from the first event, the “Pitch For Kids” Auction, were donated to the Dutchess, Ulster, and Orange counties Big Brothers/Big Sisters agencies. Skip Weisman established the Renegades charitable fund through the Community Foundation of Dutchess County and the Renegades Pitch For Kids was officially established in 1999. With a granting process to fund local charitable initiatives in place, Pitch For Kids began granting awards in 2001. Since that time, Pitch For Kids has donated $300,000 to organizations such as Child Abuse Prevention Center, The Phoenix House Poughkeepsie, St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Dutchess & Orange Counties, and D.A.R.E., all of whom focus on strengthening children and families in the community. Pitch For Kids is associated with the Hudson Valley Renegades, the Class A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

“The Renegades’ Pitch For Kids was founded to enhance the quality of life of young people and their families throughout the Hudson Valley by supporting community organizations whose programs make a positive change in youth, their families and the community.”
